Let us show that Hebden Bridge welcomes refugees to the UK. Humanity is shamed by this savage and mindless attack on an innocent teenager. There is a crowdfunding page to give financial support to this young man, here: JustGiving page.
The fundraiser is liaising with the police and social worker to make sure that the donations benefit him.

If you want to provide support closer to home, St Augustine's in Halifax always welcomes volunteers to support refugees and asylum seekers and other vulnerable people staugustinescentrehalifax.org.uk.
I've been teaching there for about 2 years - one of the best things I've ever done. Teaching English language and communication skills to people who have crossed the Channel hanging underneath a lorry to find a place of safety, fleeing wars and persecution.
And they have so much to teach us. Today I learnt about the ancient religion of Iraq and the Hungarian empire.
