Tree Felling application at Mayroyd
From Steve Mackay and Richard Easton

The old dilapidated wheel house next to the weir has been, or is, in the process of being bought.
The new owner has applied to remove TPO's on 6 individual or groups of trees, two of which are actually in our garden!
Like many we flooded on Boxing Day and were appalled to see said new owner at work removing trees without permission just two weeks later. We remonstrated with him but he walked away.
There are as yet no other plans for this site but we shudder to think what is in store for us. These trees are enormous and are a marvellous asset to local wildlife, the landscape and of course they all drink galleons of water. We need a full bio-diversity/wildlife impact assessment.
The current application claims the trees will not be missed and that there is no scope for replacing them.
Please object.

We strongly object to any felling of trees in that area! It is a flood plain and needs anything available to absorb water plus the main fact that trees should not be felled without good reason. We live in Mayroyd and will maintain a strong interest in this issue.

Can someone please post a link to the planning application in order to facilitate any objections.
