It is good to see that the police have not given up on catching Lindsay's killer. It's horrible to think that he (presumably 'he'?) could have got away with it, perhaps to kill again.
But after 20 years, has it occurred to anyone that the murderer might be dead? In which case he (?) will have escaped retribution. One can only hope that the guilty party suffered on the way out ...

If they have died, I'd like to think that someone would still come forward to say so- there would be no loyalties to someone who's died, and hopefully at least that would be some kind of closure for the family.

Unless there were more than one killer, or if the killer had a collaborator. He or she are unlikely to come forward if they were likely to be charged themselves.
