Banning of Burlesque from Hebden Bridge Picture House featured in BBC 1 Yorkshire and Humberside "Inside Out" 7.30pm, Monday 17th Feb. Women performers told how Burlesque gave them sexual power. I was reminded of Brazilian Carnaval. I danced the streets in San Francisco's 1980 Carnaval with "Batucaje Escola de Samba", dressed in glitter and feathers, not much else. Yes, I felt the power of my sexuality, in no way an object. Power to Burlesque. No it doesn't conflict with feminism. I'm a child of the 1970s too.
