Woodtop Road

Could people who race up and down Woodtop Road (not just the 4x4's) please note that the council has now put up a sign warning them that under statute their vehicles (all vehicles including delivery vans) can be seized by the police if their vehicle:
"is causing, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public."
Woodtop Road is not, in fact, a road, it is a bridleway
I have checked with the council and walkers and animals are allowed to be in the centre of it. They do not have to move out of the way for you. In many cases people have had to jump out of the way, as you were going too fast to stop! You do not have priority, as most of you seem to think.
One of your number has already knocked down a dog, and injured it so badly that it had to be put to sleep.
Will it be an adult, or a child, next time?

Whilst I agree with the overriding sentiment, surely it is logical for walkers to move to one side as well as vehicles driving in a more appropriate manner. Refusing to move to one side just because the law says you dont have is is taking a point too far don't you think?

Sorry, Yes.
It seems pedantic. Most people I know do move out of the way ? common courtesy. I am trying to say that 'common courtesy' should be shown by the drivers who drive up and down.
However, the point I have made is a valid one, as legally anyone walking a dog does not have to make their dogs walk along the edge, as the 'racers' seem to expect.
One 4x4 driver who had to slam his brakes on with a screech told a friend, who was out with his dogs, to 'keep them under control'.
People like him are the ones going too far.

I notice that the sign at the bottom of Woodtop Road warning anyone who drives in a manner that: "is causing, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance to members of the public" is likely to have their vehicle seized, has been stolen.
I suppose the brain-dead individual who took it 'thinks' that by removing the sign the relevant part of the Act of Parliament no long applies and that he/she can continue to drive up and down without a thought for anyone else ? wrong.
