YellowTalented local filmmaker Chris Butler premiers his new short film Yellow challenging our perceptions of reality at the Trades Club on Friday August 7th.

Yellow has been described as a modern Northern Western provocatively challenging our perceptions of reality as our bemused hero finds himself struggling to cope in a world where things he took for granted have ceased to exist.

Yellow will be shown on the club's new high definition big screen at 8.30pm followed by a DJ set from Anonymous Sounds promising a sunny summer menu of solid beats and cool vibes.

As it is the first Thursday of the month then it must be hotly contested Trades Quiz with teams of four and more battling it out to win the most coveted quiz team award in the valley.

The Code Red team make their first visit to the club on Saturday August 8th replacing Thomas Mapfumo who now plays on August 23rd. Code Red feature DJs Frank Panther, Tyke and Jeannie with new visuals created by Madame Muffin, Code Red are raising funds for the Tia Greyhound & Lurcher Rescue charity based in Sowerby Bridge who have been rehousing retired dogs for the last decade.

The relaunched Salsa nights continue on Sunday August 9th kicking off with a one hour beginner’s class and then three hours of relaxed freestyle dancing.

“The Trades has always been a multi media venue so as we’ve the biggest screen in town it seemed natural for Chris Butler to premier his new film here especially as we've just had high definition installed,” Trades Club spokesperson Paul Clarke told the Hebden Bridge Web.

“Code Red are a welcome addition to our roster of high quality DJS and as the valley is full of dog lovers so I’m sure there will be a good crowd to support the work of the Tia rescue service who do a fantastic job finding hew homes for retired greyhounds and lurchers.”
