Hebden Royd Town Councillor Stewart Brown accompanied Fairfield residents on the Hebden Bridger E bus as a regular service to the area resumed at 10.48 am on Monday 30th October after 6 months.
Cllr Brown, who had campaigned with local residents for the restoration of the service told the Hebden Bridge Web: "There was a healthy turnout for the first bus and just seeing buses run again in Fairfield on a Monday for the first time in 6 months raised everyone’s spirits. I’m still hopeful that ways can be found of improving the service further. Certainly no-one’s pretending that 2 buses a day in each direction Monday to Saturday - 1048 and 1448 to Hebden Bridge and 1208 and 1608 back - is a 5-star service, but to have even this is a real boon for the elderly and disabled who’ve suffered the most hardship since the service was cut in April."
