LOCAL BROADBAND COOP 3-C TO LAUNCH COMPUTER SKILL-SHARING SESSIONS |
Wednesday, November 16, 2005 Calder Connect Co-operative (3-C), the Calder Valley's member run Internet Service Provider, is to launch Computer Skill-Sharing sessions. The first session will take place on Tuesday 29 November at St Michael's Church Hall, New Road, Mytholmroyd, starting at 7.30pm. During the sessions, some of 3-C's technical volunteers will be available to help computer users sort out difficulties with internet connections, e-mail and other computer problems for themselves. The sessions will be tailored to the needs of those who come along. They will be people-friendly and not too technical. The Skill Sharing events are open to everyone whether they are 3-C members or not. Richard Hull of 3-C's Management Committee said: "Our Skill-Sharing sessions show 3-Cís commitment to true community broadband, distinguishing us from other Internet Service Providers. We want to enable computer users to feel more confident about what to do when things go wrong. At the first Skill-Sharing session we will offer information about pressing problems with a minimum of jargon. There will also be an opportunity for people to decide on the format for future sessions." People who can't come to this meeting and are interested in similar events in the future should e-mail support@3-c.coop or ring 0845 456 1793.
