Poetry at Moyles

On the 13 and 14 of November, Moyles Hotel, Bar and Restaurant in Hebden Bridge will host a weekend of contemporary poetry and music.

The Poets participating in the programme, which starts at 5pm on Saturday and ends at 10pm on Sunday, are some of the most respected and widely regarded writers working both nationally and abroad. The range of styles, themes and presentation is representative of both the diversity and richness of current poetry.

A series of events will follow at Moyles and will include both poetry and arts related activities. The Poets appearing on Saturday 13 November are Simon Armitage, Judi Benson, Stephanie Bowgett, Michael Haslam and Milner Place. Musicians performing are singer songwriter Jonjo Feather and Dean Firth playing Classical guitar.

On Sunday 14 November the poets appearing are John Hartley Williams, Peter Pegnall, Amanda Dalton, Matthew Welton, Jeffrey Wainwright and Carola Luther. Musicians performing will be Steve Clayton, writer and musician, and Adrian Ingham jazz musician and writer.

In addition there will be an opera and buffet event on the Sunday afternoon with David Owen from Opera North and a selection of organic nibbles prepared by Dan Gummerson, head chef at Moyles.
