Peoples Millions Return to Hebden Bridge Wednesday, 13 May 2009 Yorkshire TV's Calendar crew were filming today in Calder Holmes Park, Hebden Bridge. They were in the Peoples Millions funded play area which was opened last summer to find out if the new playground was living up to expectations. Interviewing children from Riverside School, Producer Charlie Richards asked if the children liked the park, how well it was used and if they were glad they had entered the competition. Charlie said 'this place is so busy, all the school children must make a beeline for here straight after school' 'it's wonderful to see that Peoples Millions has really benefited so many children, providing them with this wonderful, safe place in which to play' she also commented 'it's wonderful to see the snowball effect this play space is having on the rest of the park, the new Green Business Network funded sand and water play area is great and it was wonderful to hear that the older children are not being forgotten with plans for an extension to the skate park well under way' 'Its great that Calendar has returned to Hebden' Jason Boom, Environmental Community Warden for Hebden Royd told the Hebden Bridge Web, 'they are using the Calder Holmes Park play area as an example of what can be achieved, and the difference these projects can make to launch Peoples Millions 2009' You can see the full story on Calendar this Thursday at 6pm on ITV1.
