Quinteto Mambo Jambo at the Trades
Friday, 20 February 2009
Salsa stars Quinteto Mambo Jambo have just returned from a trip from Havana bringing their authentic Cuban rhythms to the Trades Club this Saturday.
The five piece band who travelled to Brazil and Cuba learning new songs and winning approval from local bands promise a hot mix of Latin dancefloor styles designed to get bums wiggling and hips swinging.
The Trades will be turned into a classic sweaty Cuban taverna and the club is promising to bring in extra rum to make the whole event even more authentic.
Quinteto Mambo Jambo are also promising to spice things up even further with a mix of Latin styles including salsa, son, chachacha, samba and rumba with a bit of Congolese and other African sounds thrown into the mix.
“Dancers go crazy for these exciting Latin rhythms because they’re such fun to dance to, “says bandleader Pete Jack. “We’ve been out to places like Cuba and Brazil learning new songs and styles from bands out there so hopefully we can give more than just a flavour of how exciting Latin music is at the moment.”
Tickets for the gig priced £10 are available from the Trades Club on 01422845265 or boxoffice@tradesclub.org.
