Arabic dance session for kids at Trades Club

The Trades Club is hosting an Arabic dance session for kids this Saturday featuring internationally acclaimed dancer Kay Taylor from Farida dance.

Kay regularly travels to Cairo to study with local dancers and she will giving a demonstration of some Egyptian dance moves before encouraging all the kids to let their hair down dancing to songs from across the Middle east.

Organisers Stuff and Nonsense have also invited song and dance academy Baby Ballet along to run a taster session of basic ballet moves for children.

Once the kids have had their faces painted frazzled parents can put their feet up with a sandwich and coffee from the café plus the chance to sample a dizzying array of home made cakes.

“Stuff and Nonsense identified that kids along the valley needed to do something fun and educational at the weekend and their first event last month was packed out,” says Trades Club spokesperson Paul Clarke.

“The Trades has an international reputation as a venue that hosts world music so we’re delighted that an internationally renowned dancer like Kay Taylor will be helping local children learn more about Arabic dance.”

Advance tickets for the event which starts at 3.15pm are priced £4.50/£3.50 for adults and £1.50/£1.00 for children over two and are available from The Old Tree House, Hebden Bridge Tourist Information Centre or from the Trades on 01422 845265 or boxoffice@tradesclub.info.
