Hebden Bridge's Chris Green at launch of strategy to End Violence Against Women Thursday, 26 November 2009 On November 25th the International Day to Eradicate Violence against Women, the Government launched its strategy to End Violence Against Women and announced that it would be working with Hebden Bridge based White Ribbon Campaign to engage men in combatting vilolence against women, as well as consulting with them on its future communication strategy. Chris Green Director of White Ribbon Campaign said "We are very happy to be involved with the policy in this way, and welcome the emphasis on the whole school approach on working to end violence. This is an approach we have been recommending for some time, and we look forward to contributing our experience in this area." Home Secretary Alan Johnson and Hebden At our White Ribbon event in the House of Commons on November 25th we held photocalls with all three maor parties and a total of 90 MPs took part, including front bench spokespeople from all parties, Ed Balls, Secretary of State of Education, Maria Eagle, Minister for Women and Alan Johnson, Home Secretary. At Prime Minister Questions Jack Straw and Theresa May were glaring at each other across the chamber, both sporting their white ribbons showing a commitment never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.
