GP patients have new online services All you need to do is verify your identity in person with two forms of ID! Added Tuesday, 1 September 2009 The Patients’ Participation and Involvement Group (PPI) are pleased to announce that, at the Hebden Bridge Group Practice, you now have a choice in how you register with the Practice, book your appointment or order a repeat prescription. Some people don’t find it easy to make appointments etc via the telephone- the Practice has had a number of complaints from patients who find it difficult to get through, particularly at peak times. This problem has been discussed at recent PPI meetings and now patients can also access these important services online. At any time of day or night, and without having to wait, patients can book or cancel their appointments, or order their repeat prescriptions via the Internet. New patients can also register online. To use the online services patients first need to call into reception at Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd or Luddendenfoot to verify their identification. Please bring two forms of ID - either a photo driving licence or passport and a utility bill, mobile phone bill or bank statement bearing your name / family name. In view of data protection issues, patients can only register for themselves and in person and must be 14 or over. They will then be given a username and password which will enable them to access the online booking system via the Practice website. At the next meeting of the PPI Group we will be providing an update about the online services and how things are going so far. If you have not been to one of these meetings before, this might be a good opportunity to come along. The meetings are quarterly and always include a guest speaker - at the next meeting there will be a short presentation on tackling obesity. We always welcome new members and new ideas. The next meeting is at 6pm until 7.30 pm, September 17th 2009, at Grange Dene Medical Centre in Mytholmroyd. Notice boards in the Practices offer more information.
