Dodnaze is blooming Monday, 22 June 2009 The final few baskets of the Hebden Royd Summer Hanging Basket Scheme were placed outside Dodnaze Community Centre, Hebden Bridge this week. With approaching 300 baskets the scheme is one of the largest in the district and has started to be seen as a sign of summer arriving in the upper valley. Funded by retailers and Hebden Royd Town Council this year's displays should be the best ever if the good summer that has been ordered arrives. "We've looked to make planting this year more robust to take account of the wet weather we can have in the upper valley, along with more regular maintenance and a bit of sun they'll look better than ever", Environmental Community Warden Jason Boom told the Hebden Bridge Web. Dodnaze Community Forum have taken 8 troughs for the last 4 years and they were delighted with the results.
