Hebden Bridge in Europe Sunday, 11 May 2008 For the past few days, throughout Hebden Bridge the sounds of the French and German languages have been heard. Around forty or more visitors from our twin towns, St. Pol and Warstein have been hosted by Hebden Bridge families. With the glorious May sunshine, they have been able to appreciate our area at its very best. Today, at special ceremonies, stones were unveiled to name St Pol Square in Bridge Gate and Warstein Square at the Marina. There were speeches from the dignitaries of three towns, and music from the Junior Band. Outgoing Mayor of Hebden Royd, Nader Fekri said that from now on there will always be parts of Hebden Bridge which will be forever French and German.
