Upper Valley Forum: 9th September
Birchcliffe Centre, Hebden Bridge
There will be a chance to have your say on issues from traffic to waste, green spaces to crime and health at Calderdale Councils Area Forums, beginning next week.
Following a series of successful Area Conferences in June and July, which identified issues important to the community, Area Forum meetings will be held across the borough during September to discuss the issues in more depth.
Hosted by Calderdale councillors, the Area Forums are an opportunity for people to receive feedback on the progress of issues that were raised at the Area Conferences, as well as to tell Council members and officers about other issues that are important to them in their area.
Anyone with an interest in their local area is welcome to attend including representatives of faith groups, the voluntary and community sector, residents, the police and health service to local businesses. Area Forum meetings will take place at the following venues and dates during September, all starting at 6.30pm for 7pm
Kersten England, CMBC Group Director for Community Services, said: "The Area Conferences were very well attended, with lively discussions raising many issues and comments about the things people value in their locality and things they would like to change. We now plan to build on that with Area Forums, bringing the Council even closer to the communities we serve. I would urge everyone to attend their local Area Forum - it's a great opportunity to tell us about the issues important to you in your area."
The forums will run for a year and then be reviewed to establish a way forward.
