There is a group of medics going up to provide round the clock medical support at all the anti G8 protests, demos and events.

Many of these going are from the Calder Valley. There will be between 50 and hundred medics up in Scotland for up to three weeks.

All donations of vegan food are welcome

You can donate food by

Dropping it in at the

Canalside Community Cafe, Hebble End, near the Alternative Technology Centre.

Surely they aren't - or shouldn't be - 'anti' G8 protests?

Tony Blair's stated aims at the Gleneagles summit are Africa (and how to write off the debt of that continent and provide more aid), and tackling global climate change. See http://www.g8.gov.uk for more details.

Isn't it better to lend support to these aims rather than oppose them? I actually think they're quite worthwhile, and am really not prepared to lend support to people who think otherwise.

It's a little bit 'old hat' to be anti-this, anti-that, anti-everything. Can't we be supportive for once and realise that the aims of G8 are actually quite reasonable?

So are all these 50 to 100 medics vegans then? That's quite some coincidence, statistically speaking!

In answer to the question are they all vegan.

A large magority of them are. Also the cooks are vegan, and in if we are on site in hot weather for 3 to 4 weeks we can not keep dairy products refrigerated.

It is easier to cook one meal that everyone can eat then to cook a vegan, veggie and dead animal meal.

Remember come to the canalside cafe tues-thurs 10-6 through out june and donate food to feed the medics.
