Has the council cleaned its act up?

It was nice but worrying to see the Independant award Hebden Bridge its highest position of town with individual character. Does this now mean that poperty prices will esculate even more and the cost of commercial property go through the roof?. I really hope that the council has prepared itself for the influx of planning permissions and can make mature decisions when the corporations start moving in under the disguise of independently run organic shops and eateries.
