Pecket PikePosted by Dorna Just wonderring if anyone can provide any information. Im not local, but have made a few visits to your lovely home town and the surrounding area. I've seen Stoodley Pike sat up there on the hill, and have read up a bit about it, but am unable to find any information about the smaller pike somewhere near Pecket Well, as you drive up and away from Hebden Bridge. I was wondering what it is and if it has any significance. If anyone could shed some light I'd be grateful! Posted by Danny Thompson From memory it was erected as a memorial to local soldiers who died in the War To End All Wars. And it is likely that to those names were added those who died in the war after that. It's a good fifteen years since I've been to it though, so I can't be certain, but that's what I remember. A Google search on "Pecket Pike" brings up only this discussion page.
