From Joel Booth After the recent changes to Calder Holmes Park, the walkways look very nice. However, was there any need to remove 20-30 yards off the football pitch ??? Surely the council could have stretched the pitch further over towards the river, keeping at a decent amount of width??? A number of teams pay Calderdale Council over £400 each per season for the pleasure of using Calder Holmes as their home pitch, should this amount be reduced as the size of the pitch certainly has!! From Gideon Foster Having seen an initial improvement following action taken earlier in the year, unfortunately dog fouling has recently become a problem again at Scout Road. An 8 year old player was yesterday covered in the stuff having fallen shortly into a game for Hebden Bridge Saints. I would appeal to anyone who sees the culprit(s) in action to report them , there are signs around the field warning dog owners which have a picture of a dog in a red circle with a line through it ,perhaps these could be explained to the moron(s) allowing their dogs to do this, as they are obviously unable to read the words underneath. As stated earlier in the year this is a football pitch used by children and it is not only unpleasant, it can have serious health consequences!
