From Cllr Michael Taylor Now that I am standing down as a councillor, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the very many people who offered me their support and understanding when my partner Ruth was ill with cancer and we moved to Leeds to be near the excellent Cookridge Hospital. I am very happy to be able to report that Ruth is fully recovered (in as much as you ever are with cancer). We have decided to stay in Leeds and with much regret I am not seeking re-election to Calderdale where I have been a councillor for a total of 21 years. I will be a frequent visitor to both Hebden Bridge and Todmorden, as my son and grandaughter still live in the area. It has been an honour and priviledge to be a councillor over the years.
