We moved here nearly five years ago. I seem to remember someone once mentioning that there was an idea to introduce cable cars from Old Town to Hebden Bridge. Is this true?!! Reading all the problems that there is with parking in Hebden it may be a good idea! Any thoughts on it!

I've never heard about plans for cable cars; but seeing as it has gone a bit quiet here I thought I'd mention that as a teenager in the 80s, with my mum living at the top of Hangingroyd Road and my dad up Birchcliffe - I used to dream of building a giant glass or perspex walkway between the two places to save me walking down then up again. A bit like this: but actually going somewhere!

How about a bridge from Old Town to Heptonstall? That would really define Hebden Bridge.... and cut 10 minutes off my journey times going North!
